Back
Inscription | Boulder Dam, 727 feet, the highest ever constructed, about thirty miles from Las Vegas, Nevada, creates a reservoir with a capacity of 30,500,000 acre feet, impounds the floodwaters of the Colorado River for irrigation and to improve navigation. Lake Mead, formed by the dam, will be about 115 miles in length and have an area of about 146,500 acres - the largest artificial lake in the world. |
