Chishimba Falls has been harnessed as a major source of hydroelectric power in the northern part of Zambia. Rivers and waterfalls abound all over the country and this accounts for their status as a power exporting nation. Traditionally, these falls are thought to be the location of a powerful nature spirit, Chishimba.
