Lester’s Rank-taking

Lester Tari, a rising chief in the Navonda area of Longana, achieves 'mambu hangavulu,' the second highest rank. He walks among some of the mats that have been used in the ceremony. A ‘rungwe’ rests against the tree behind him. Formerly a fighting stick, the 'rungwe' is now a symbol of rank.
