"Eureka Villa"
- Description
-
Question and answer promotional brochure for the Black resort community, Eureka Villa, located just north of Los Angeles. Eureka Villa was founded on 1000 acres, which Dones and his fellow investors bought in 1924 near the long-abandoned Mexican mining town of Val Verde. It was envisioned as an affordable and welcoming home and vacation destination for Blacks in southern California, who were otherwise excluded from most public amenities and priced well out of home ownership near the city.
