Mao was both a student and a teacher at the Memorial Primary School Attached to Hunan First Normal University, also known as the Normal Teachers School. Previously destroyed in the 1930s, the school was restored in the 1960s in its original style, serving mostly as a museum at the time. In 1980, the name of the school was changed to the No. 1 Primary School Attached to Hunan First Normal University (湖南第一师范学院第一附属小学). Changsha, Hunan province, March 13, 1972.
