Redwood Storage Tanks in Cellars of the Italian Swiss Colony Winery. The huge redwood tanks in the million gallon wine cellar, widely known as the "Redwood Forest," are one of the many interesting highlights of the winery tour enjoyed by thousands of visitors each year. The historic Italian Swiss Colony winery is located in the small village of Asti, California, 85 miles north of San Francisco on the Redwood Highway.

Tues. morning 8/5/58 Yesterday morning we climbed up to Vernal Falls, as you and I did in 1940. Then we started on up toward Nevada Falls looking for a good picture, and ended up going all the way to the top. Result was by the time we got down again and had a bit of lunch, it was 3:00 by the time we were ready to leave. Then we took Rt. 120 instead of the more travelled Merced road, - you may remember our driving into the Park that way in 1950. But we made pretty good time anyway and arrived in Santa Rosa by 9:00. I dropped the boys at a motel, and had a 3-hr visit with Bob Ross. Dick.
