Anatomy has been a cornerstone of medical education for centuries. Through learning gross anatomy in the laboratory, students gain a first-hand impression of the structure of the human body and how it relates to the pathology of human disease and clinical correlation that will become more evident within their clinical clerkships. Cadaveric dissections remain the foundation of how students are exposed to anatomy, alongside traditional anatomic lectures. The UCSD Anatomy Laboratory has continued that tradition as a component of the first year medical school curriculum. A custom anatomy laboratory manual has been created uniquely for the UCSD medical curriculum. It is composed of multiple parts, dedicated to each laboratory session. Each manual had comprised of dissection instructions intertwined with pathologic states and clinical correlates. The purpose of this project was proposed to revise, reorganize and revitalize the laboratory manual into one that separates the step-by-step dissection and identification of key structures from the pathophysiology and clinical correlates. In this way, we continue to provide the valuable information already provided in the lab manuals and create a more time efficient dissection guide for the students
