June 1943 - On the Broadway side the city has moved the side walk about 5 ft. So it is at the foot of the palms - On the S.W. corner the government has built a bungalow for their use + there are no flowers in the plaza now - it looks very run down.

The Horton Plaza in downtown San Diego has been the center of city interest since 1870. Facing it is the modern 500 room U.S. Grant Hotel, famed throughout the country for its excellent service.
