She describes her journey by train from New York to California, attending the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in San Francisco, visits to San Jose, California Redwood Park and the Panama-California Exposition in San Diego. Mrs. Clark was Scripps Institution of Oceanography professor Francis B. Sumner's Mother-in-Law
