"Old Town," San Diego, Cal., showing old church and bells, first brick building and Ramona's Marriage Place
Back
Inscription | Old Mission Bells. "Old Town," San Diego, is perhaps most hallowed and historical spot in all California. Here the cross was first planted in 1769, and here the first Mission was built. The chapel shown here is built of adobe but has been covered with boards to preserve it. The old Mission bells shown here were brought from Spain and are dated 1802. In the distance can be seen the old unfinished church and the Marriage Place of Ramona. Southern California Views. This is one of a series of 300 San Diego views. Ten or more different views may be obtained by sending one cent each in coin or stamps to Eno & Matteson, San Diego, Cal. |
