This original drawing created by Scripps Institution of Oceanography marine biologist and artist Sam Hinton appeared in a on-going San Diego newspaper column titled "The Ocean Word" depicting sea animals, fish, plants, and birds. His weekly column was created to educate and spark marine biology interest to the people of San Diego. This drawing depicts a "Japanese-American Shrimp" common name - "Palaemon macrodactylus" scientific name
