Description | Geological location of rock samples: South Farallon Basin. No general description. Rock sample: D75SFB-1 w/ field name: Basalt. Sample comments: Few samples of subrounded to rounded rock fragments from 3 to 30cm in diameter. Thin ferromanganese coating on the surface. Very fine grain matrix, light brown to gray probably due to alteration at different degrees. Incrusting organisms on the top. Within the grain matrix angular fragments of volcanic rocks, very small. |
