Young Men Grind Kava

Young men or 'malangelos' customarily make kava for the older men. There are two different ways to make kava shown. The kastom approach is to grind kava roots with a piece of white coral shaped into a grinder. On the left, a newer way to make kava is to smash the roots in a wooden container.
