Kaising removes the lap lap from the hot stones
- Collection
- Description
-
Kaising and Jill removing the laplap from the hot stones when the meal is cooked and ready to eat. In Mewun, food strengthens ties between people. While food is offered as a gesture of good will between friendly acquaintances, a meal that people actually share is a symbol of a more familiar and closer relationship. The concept which is closest to the "Western family" is that of people who share meals from a single fire. Lap lap is ready, removed from the fire and served by cutting circular pieces within the larger circle with Kaising, Vinmari and Jill.
