Monument commemorating President (Mexico, 1934-1940) Lazaro Cardenas's visit to Yucatán Aug. 5, 1937 and his initation of an ejido and renaming of the town as Temozon de Mena y Sosa, recognizing the murders of agrarian activists Ignacio Mena and Adalberto Sosa. Erected by President (Mexico, 1970-1976) Luis Echeverria Alvarez, Sept. 13, 1972.
