Enrique Aguado Marco was born on Feb. 2, 1913 in Molina de Aragón, province of Guadalajara. He gives an account of his experiences during the Spanish Civil War, fighting with a Republican battalion in the Battle of Ebro and in other battles. He was appointed to head the commissary of his battalion, a position of considerable responsibility as he relates in the interview. He was active with the Communist Party in Spain, as well as during his exile in France. In addition to describing his own experiences, Aguado speculates on the the United States involvement in the Civil War, suggesting that Franco would never have won without oil and fuel supplied on installment from the United States
