This collection includes data used in the analysis reported in "increasing stem undergraduate participation in innovative activities: field experimental evidence" (graff zivin & lyons, 2019). the data summarizes an innovation contest in which some participants were induced to participate (induce=1) and some self-selected into participation (induce=0). among all participants, an encouragement intervention was randomly assigned (the "encouragement" variable captures this treatment status). data include self-reported participant characteristics, performance in the contest, and self-reported effort.
