About this collection

Description

This dataset contains research data used to investigate pore-water flow through a coastal gravel berm composed of layered sediments at South Carlsbad State Beach, California. The dataset includes pressure time-series measurements and gridded/individual LiDAR point clouds provided as MATLAB data files, MATLAB scripts for visualizing the pressure and LiDAR data, and an MP4 movie file. The data were collected during a field experiment in which a gravel berm with layered sediments was constructed and in situ pressure gauges were buried within the sediment layers. As the tide rose, waves began to run up and down the berm, eventually overtopping and flattening the structure.
