This collection contains ocean model output from two suites of experiments analyzed Warming Band in Southern Ocean’s Indian Sector: The Role of Remote Atlantic Buoyancy Forcing via Poleward-Shifting Circulation Response. The first uses MITgcm, in the ECCO version 4 configuration, to explore the effects of strong-warming-like perturbations to the surface boundary conditions (SST, SSS and wind stress), similar to Peng et al. 2022, 2023. SST and SSS restoring, rather than flux perturbations, are used to apply the perturbations; in several experiments, these thermodynamic boundary conditions are perturbed only in certain regions. The other suite of experiments, similar to Luongo et al. 2022, uses wind stress locking in CESM1 to separate the impacts of wind stress changes and thermodynamic buoyancy fluxes in driving ocean change under strong CO2 forcing. While the analysis in the published work focused on the Southern Ocean, the datasets include information about the full global ocean.
