UC Library Search
UC Library Search Launches July 27, 2021
On July 27, 2021, a sweeping new project unified the UC San Diego Library's vast collections with the collections of the other nine University of California's libraries under one virtual roof. Powered by ExLibris Alma/Primo, UC Library Search makes discovering and accessing the entire University of California library collection more streamlined and straightforward.
UC Library Search replaced Roger as UC San Diego's local library catalog and Melvyl as the UC-wide library catalog search tool.
As a single, unified system, UC Library Search offers powerful tools to help all UC libraries make data-informed decisions that will help enrich the user experience at each institution for faculty, students, and researchers worldwide who need to access collections across the University of California system.
The Library will now begin adding records to UC Library Search for items received during the acquisitions pause. Additionally, Interlibrary Loan (ILL) requests received during the ILL pause will be fulfilled in the order they were received.
Users can access their UC Library Search Account using your Single Sign-On (SSO) credentials. All check out materials have been migrated to UC Library Search accounts.
As part of this project, the UC-eLinks system has been replaced with Get it at UC, the new linking system to seamlessly move from article or book citation to the actual publication. The Get it at UC button will have all of the existing functionalities of UC-eLinks, but harness the increased usability of the UC Library Search platform.
This transition has involved the collaboration of library workers at all 10 UC campuses, and a tremendous amount of time and energy has been put into making this the best service possible. We’re extremely proud to release the new system and we hope our patrons enjoy using it. As library users begin to engage with UC Library Search, we will continue to gather feedback and other data with an eye toward continuously improving the user experience.
