Part 1
Summary
Campo de la Bota (Camp de la Bota in Catalan) was the location of a military prison in Barcelona where, during the years 1936-1952, some 1700 people were executed by Franco's army. The videos contain interviews with three men who are part of an association dedicated to preserving the memory of those killed at Campo de la Bota. Included are descriptions of how and where the executions took place, how bodies were installed in common graves, the decades of neglect of the area, and finally the efforts required for placing and maintaining monuments at the site. One of the videos includes the testimonies of two men, Miguel Castel Borrell and Lluís Serra Sancho, whose respective fathers, Miguel Castel Barrabés and Lluís Serra i Giribert, were executed at Campo de la Bota in 1939. The final video records a visit to the Montjuïc Cemetery in Barcelona, where Buenaventura Durruti and Lluís Companys are buried
