Records of the Office of the Chancellor that document special UC San Diego celebrations and ceremonies.

The Chancellor is UC San Diego's chief administrative officer and has general authority across the university. He or she is responsible for establishing UC San Diego's administrative structure and insuring that it functions responsibly and efficiently.

The Chancellor has the specific, delegated authority to represent the University in public forums. As such, the Chancellor plays a significant public role in many of the special events and celebrations that take place at UC San Diego.

Series 1) 25TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION: Documents the planning and execution of the many events that were hosted as a part of the celebrations, including a commemoration ceremony, a convocation, a gala, and two symposiums. These events celebrated the development of UC San Diego from its beginning in 1960 through 1985. Includes correspondence, memorabilia, and photographs.
