"PASSION FLOWER'S" PORTRAIT INSPIRE REDS' LAST STAND IN CAPITAL. -- As the insurgent forces slowly complete their encirclement of Madrid, the population keeps up its spirits by daily communist demonstrations. Often these processions are headed by a portrait of "La Passionaria" (Passion Flower) who is said to be one of the main inspirations of the government supporters. Photo shows a general view of one of the daily communist demonstrations in Madrid. A portrait of "The Passion Flower" is seen at the head of the procession, followed by the Communist red star and hammer and sickle. Members of the Communist Youth Organizations proudly bearing their toy rifles and bayonets, play a large part in the procession."
