Ruins of old Rancho Buenos Aires (Grosso place)

Rancho Santa Catarina (Dominican, 1797). 1954. "Santa Catalina (as it was originally called), at an elevation of 3,600 ft... Only low mounds of adobe remain of the extensive buildings, arranged as a fortress on a low hill on the west side of the arroyo. Just below the mission ruins are the remains of a stone-and-adobe dam once used to irrigate crops in the valley below."

Las Palomas. 1960.

San Agustín. 1963. "Cattle ranch. A deep well furnishes some excellent water. There is a restaurant, with kerosene refrigerator (cold beer). This ranch was started about 1905 to provide water and supplies for El Mármol."
