UC San Diego Library Celebrates 50th Anniversary of School of Medicine

UC San Diego School of Medicine 50th Anniversary Exhibit
Biomedical Library Breezeway
July 23-September 17, 2018

The UC San Diego Library celebrates 50 years of medical education at the UC San Diego School of Medicine. Throughout this time medical faculty, physicians and students have played an integral role in the achievements and success of the program today. This exhibit is on display through September 17th.

Fifty years after its first class of medical students, the School of Medicine is considered to be among the 20 best in the country in terms of research and primary care. The campus has become a hub for medical science and for translating fundamental discoveries into new clinical therapies. There is a lot to celebrate – from establishing the region’s first Level 1 Trauma Center in 1976 that has been used as a model for trauma centers around the world to establishing an international model for HIV and AIDS patient care known as the Owen’s Clinic.
