UC San Diego Library Supports Cultural and Educational Opportunities During Museum Month 2025

San Diego Museum Month returns February 1–28, 2025, marking its 36th year of making arts and culture more accessible to the community. For the second year running, UC San Diego Library is proud to serve as a promotional partner for this highly anticipated program, which offers half-price admission to more than 70 participating institutions, including museums, aquariums and other cultural organizations throughout the region.

Museum Month passes are now available for pickup at the Geisel Library and Sally T. WongAvery Library Service Hubs. The Museum Month pass provides discounted admission for up to four people per pass. Additionally, digital passes will be available on the San Diego Museum Council website starting February 1, offering greater flexibility for participants.

Why Museum Month Matters

Presented by the San Diego Foundation and organized by the San Diego Museum Council (SDMC), Museum Month is one of the nation’s most successful month-long arts and culture outreach events. The program aims to reduce financial barriers to arts and culture, encouraging more residents and visitors to explore San Diego’s vibrant cultural scene. By offering half-off admission, the program supports local museums and promotes greater engagement with the arts, sciences, history, nature and cultural heritage.

“By distributing free Museum Month passes, the Library is helping to connect our community with San Diego’s rich cultural and educational attractions at a reduced rate. Museums are not only spaces for inspiration but also hubs for education and discovery, and by providing these passes, we help make arts, culture and lifelong learning more accessible to students, families and the broader community,” said Audrey Geisel University Librarian Erik Mitchell. “We’re thrilled to be part of this incredible program for a second year.”
