Join the Circuit Libraries for our next Author Talk event featuring Jen Soriano in conversation with Jason Magobo Perez ’03, MA ’13, PhD ’16
This event will feature a reading from Soriano’s book “NERVOUS: Essays on Heritage and Healing,” and a discussion of the ways that literature, indigenous stewardship, and cultural practices of collectivism can buffer against trauma from climate disruption and contribute to climate resilience.
Jen Soriano(she/they) is a Filipinx-American lyric essayist, award-winning writer, independent scholar, and multi-disciplinary performer. Her most recent published work, “Nervous: Essays on Heritage and Healing,” is a memoir in 14 essays that explores how our nervous systems carry ancestral lessons from the past and also carry the key to transforming society toward a trauma-wise future.
Pre-registration is required for this event.
