  1. This underwater photo was taken during the Capricorn Expedition (1952-1953). It shows the floor of the Pleistocene atoll called Alexa Bank, at a depth of 20 fathoms just inside the eastern rim. The coral is Echinopora lamellosa, the scuba diver is Scripps Institution of Oceanography's Walter H. (Walter Heinrich) Munk. December 1952.
