# Readme This collection contains raw data from a REMUS 100 Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) deployed in 06-08 September 2013 over a fringing coral reef near Makua Beach, Oahu, Hawai'i. Each folder contains data for the corresponding deployment (e.g., /130907 corresponds to data collected during 07 September 2013). Files and directories: /yymmdd/ADCP/yymmdd.ADC Contains raw binary RDI Workhorse ADCP data. Note this file interlaces upward and downward-looking ADCP data. This data can be read into Matlab (https://www.eoas.ubc.ca/~rich/#RDADCP) or Python (https://stompy.readthedocs.io/en/latest/_modules/stompy/io/rdradcp.html) using the rdradcp function developed by Rich Pawlowicz. /yymmdd/ADCP/yymmdd.GPS Position data for *.ADC file (raw ADCP Data). Contains vehicle coordinates (latitude, longitude) with corresponding timestamp (UTC). /yymmdd/ADCP/yymmdd.txt ADCP (RD Instruments) configuration file. /yymmdd/CONFIG/yymmdd.ini Vehicle configuration file. The vehicle reads the *.ini file each time it powers up, to “learn” vehicle settings, navigation and communication settings, what sensors are on board, and more. /yymmdd/CONFIG/yymmdd.rmf Mission file. This (ASCII) text file defines the mission that the vehicle executed. The mission file tells the vehicle its position when the mission starts, where to start and by what trigger, and where to go during the mission. It also tells the vehicle the locations of transponders. Mission file information includes locations of waypoints and known targets in the survey area. /yymmdd/RLF/yymmdd.RLF REMUS Run Log File. This file contains the navigational variables (latitude, longitude, altitude, depth, yaw, pitch, roll) collected by the vehicle during the mission. RLF data can be converted to ASCII (.txt) or Matlab (.mat Version 6.5) format using the REMUS Vehicle Interface Program (VIP).
