Daniel Steinberg and Scott M. Gundy

Daniel Steinberg (sitting), a doctor at UCSD who founded the UCSD School of Medicine. He studied lipid chemistry and the causes of atherosclerosis with a main focus in the role of LDL and HDL cholesterols in heart disease. Standing near him is Scott M. Gundy, chief of the Metabolic Section in San Diego Veteran's Administration Hospital.
