Construction scenes and lens grinding for panetarium in WWII optical shop at the California Academy of Sciences, Golden Gate Park, San Francisco, California. Dallas Hanna, in charge of the project, grinds lenses. Electrical relays came from gun turrets of B17 bombers declared surplus and dismantled in the basement of the Steinhart Aquarium. Two men were required to remove each patented bolt in the turret. Other lenses came from Fairchild areal camera sold through the State Board of Education as surplus for $25.00 each.
