Inscription | Mr. + Mrs. C.D. Thorp 120 S. North St. Washington C.H., Ohio U.S.A. Saturday P.M. We are steaming along. Today the sea is smooth and I feel fine but it is the first day. Thursday night and all day Friday it was stormy, and the ship rolled, I couldn't take it and played the lady taking my two meals in bed. Did not eat lunch. Was so glad to get your card. I am sending a letter home which will eventually reach you. Hope you and all the children are well. M.L.H. The R.M.S. "Queen Mary" is 1019.5 ft. in length, 118 ft. in breadth and weighs 81,235.18 gross tonnage. The ship is 180 ft. high from keel to top forward funnel. There are 12 decks and 4 propellers. Passenger accommodations are provided for over 2000 persons and the crew consists of approximately 1,200 officers and men. Average speed about 30 knots per hour. |
