Totem poles, Alert Bay, Vancouver Island

C110. Caption on back: Alert Bay seems to be the most southerly boundary of the country that uses Totem Poles. The Nimikish Indians of Alert Bay are different in language and customs from all the tribes of the North. The Totem Poles, however, have characteristics somewhat similar.

Souvenir postcard was originally laid in an album documenting a 1953 trip to Washington, Oregon and Alaska.
