Fane’elala was at this time a old man at Uka, in the bush behind Sinalagu and Uru.
Batamani Maenaa’adi from Saua in the mountains behind Sinalagu worked with extensively with Keesing.
Busumae is Manaa’adi's older brother. Both brothers were still living in 2020.
Suuato and Ta’eka are both from Lauleelegwa in the mountains behind Sinalagu Harbour.
Fane’elala tells about the attack on the recruiting ship The Young Dick in 1886 at Sinalagu. Suuato and Ta’eka (both from Lauleelegwa in the mountains behind Sinalagu Harbour) talk about the "teargassing" which refers to an election altercation at Sinalagu in the 1980s. An English transcript for part of it is in the Keesing Papers. Mt. Austen was the site of a murder of three members of a family by Kwaio men in the 1980s. Three Kwaio were arrested for the attack, one was acquitted, and one hanged himself in prison. Maesua, and Molaina’o (from Buburia) are three men from the bush behind Sinalagu.
Batamani Maenaa’adi, a man from Saua ('Aisi'ina, Furi’isi’ina) in the mountains behind Sinalagu Harbour, worked extensively with Keesing. He was still living in 2020.
Recording continues on Keesing Cassette Tape 122.
