In this view the 10 endosymbiotic bacteria are evident as well as an endosymbiotic zoochlorella. The endosymbiotic bacteria are full of viral particles and a few can be seen in the cytoplasm. A large food vacuole is present and oral membranelles are evident. Other features of the oral apparatus such as microtubules aligning the walls and a noded system at one side are exhibited. Additionaly, the macronuclear organization is observed. TEM taken by G. Antipa in 1968 on a Hitachi HU11A operating at 75kV. The negative magnification is 5,000X. The raw film was scanned with an Epson Perfection V750 Pro. This image is best used for quantitative analysis. Standard glutaraldehyde fixation followed by osmium tetroxide, dehydrated in alcohol and embedded in an epoxy resin. Microtome sections prepared at approximately 65nm thickness."},"ITEMTYPE":[{"onto_name":"transmission electron microscopy (TEM)","onto_id":"FBbi:00000258"},{"onto_name":"illumination by electrons","onto_id":"FBbi:00000273"}],"CELLULARCOMPONENT":[{"onto_name":"symbiont-containing vacuole","onto_id":"GO:0020003"},{"free_text":"zoochlorellae"},{"free_text":"bacterial endosymbiont"},{"onto_name":"cytoplasm","onto_id":"GO:0005737"},{"onto_name":"oral apparatus","onto_id":"GO:0031912"},{"onto_name":"food vacuole","onto_id":"GO:0020020"},{"onto_name":"microtubule associated complex","onto_id":"GO:0005875"},{"free_text":"noded fiber"},{"onto_name":"macronucleus","onto_id":"GO:0031039"}],"RELATIONTOINTACTCELL":{"onto_name":"microtome-sectioned tissue","onto_id":"FBbi:00000029"},"SOURCEOFCONTRAST":{"onto_name":"stain with broad specificity","onto_id":"FBbi:00000415"},"DATAQUALIFICATION":{"free_text":"RAW"},"TERMSANDCONDITIONS":{"free_text":"public_domain"},"IMAGINGMODE":[{"onto_name":"detection of electrons","onto_id":"FBbi:00000375"},{"onto_name":"film","onto_id":"FBbi:00000303"}],"DIMENSION":[{"Space":{"Image_size":5450,"Pixel_size":{"unit":"nanometers","value":2.8},"axis":"X"}},{"Space":{"Image_size":5423,"Pixel_size":{"unit":"nanometers","value":2.8},"axis":"Y"}}],"NCBIORGANISMALCLASSIFICATION":[{"onto_name":"Trichodina","onto_id":"NCBITaxon:197893"},{"onto_name":"Chlorella","onto_id":"NCBITaxon:3071"}],"PREPARATION":[{"onto_name":"glutaraldehyde fixed tissue","onto_id":"FBbi:00000011"},{"onto_name":"osmium tetroxide fixed tissue","onto_id":"FBbi:00000012"},{"onto_name":"tissue in epoxy resin embedment","onto_id":"FBbi:00000018"},{"onto_name":"microtome-sectioned tissue","onto_id":"FBbi:00000029"}],"VISUALIZATIONMETHODS":[{"onto_name":"stain with broad specificity","onto_id":"FBbi:00000415"},{"onto_name":"osmium tetroxide","onto_id":"FBbi:00000571"},{"onto_name":"uranyl salt","onto_id":"FBbi:00000569"},{"onto_name":"lead salt","onto_id":"FBbi:00000570"}],"CELLTYPE":[{"onto_name":"cell by organism","onto_id":"CL:0000004"},{"onto_name":"eukaryotic cell","onto_id":"CL:0000255"},{"free_text":"Eukaryotic Protist"},{"free_text":"Ciliated Protist"}]}},"Citation":{"Title":"Gregory Antipa (San Francisco State University) (2011) CIL:25691, Trichodina, Chlorella, cell by organism, eukaryotic cell, Eukaryotic Protist, Ciliated Protist.
