Ritter at this time was a professor of Zoology at UC Berkeley, and also Director as well as President and one of the founding fathers of the Marine Biological Association of San Diego, which become Scripps Institution of Oceanography. Rabbi Finkelstein was a Talmud scholar and expert in Jewish law. He taught at the Jewish Theological Seminary of America, the first American seminary of Conservative Judaism. Unknown date.
