Heteropod collected by marine biologists aboard the R/V Horizon (ship) for Scripps Institution of Oceanography. Heteropods, are a bizarre group of pelagic molluscs, they are amongst the most widespread and successful groups of peculiar planktonic predators. Circa 1950.
