In this data set there are several .mat files that contain the data used for the figures in “Sensitivities of the West Greenland Current to Greenland Ice Sheet Meltwater in a Mesoscale Ocean/Sea Ice Model”. There are four files: Energy_Budget_terms_UH8to2_1992 (Figures 3 and 4) Contains 2 dimensional averages of the energy budget terms described in equations 1-4 of the text. Each field is averaged over the top 230 m. The arrays are labeled as the energy budget component (KEM, EKE, PEM, EPE) with a suffix corresponding to the experiment (surf, sprd, or ctrl). The grid latitude and longitude are also included. Energy_conversion_terms_UH8to2_1992 (Figures 5 and 6) Contains 2 dimensional averages of the energy conversion terms described in equations 5-8 of the text. Each field is averaged over the top 230 m. The arrays are labeled as the energy conversion term (T1, T2, T3, T4) with a suffix corresponding to the experiment (surf, sprd, or ctrl). The grid latitude and longitude are also included. Volume_Salt_Dye_transport_timeseries (Figure 8) Time series of the volume, salt, and dye transport into the control volume. In addition, the meltwater content of the control volume (MWCV_vol_TS_full) is included. The transports are PTRC for Dye, SALT for salt, and VOLM for volume. The suffix corresponds to the experiment (surf, sprd, or ctrl), note there is no passive tracer in the ctrl experiment. EKE_DyeFlux_T2_at_shelfbreak (Figure 9) Time series of the dye flux, eddy kinetic energy, and baroclinic conversion along the control volume boundary and integrated over the north and south portions of the shelf. In addition, the distance along the contour and the z coordinate (not including partial bottom cells) are included. The fluxes are DyeFlux for Dye, EKE for eddy kinetic energy, and T2 for baroclinic energy. The suffix corresponds to the experiment (surf, sprd, or ctrl), note there is no passive tracer in the ctrl experiment. Additional data can be shared upon request.
