Edward W. Fager (1917-1976) with his daughter Ellen Fager. Fager was a professor of biology at Scripps Institution of Oceanography. Fager conducted the most intensive long term ecological study of community structures of shallow-water creatures off the Scripps beach, often referred to Fager's Half-acre. June 1985.
