Middle Jurassic limestone-This 160 million-year-old Middle Jurassic limestone core, oldest ever taken from any ocean of the world was recovered on Leg Eleven of the Deep Sea Drilling Project at a site northeast of the Bahama Islands. Scientists used these sediments in order to interpret the origin and history of the development of the Atlantic Ocean.
