Main Street, Santo Town 3 of 3

Main Street in Luganville is exceptionally wide. It was built in World War II, when 40,000 U.S. military personnel were stationed in the town. The base commander decided that the road through town had to be wide enough for four tanks to be driven side by side on the road.
