A striated kinetodesmal fiber extends anteriorly from the basal body, a postciliary microtubular ribbon extends posteriorly and a transverse microtubular ribbon extends to the right of the anterior-posterior axis of the row of basal bodies. Basal bodies are composed of 9 triplet fibers each set at a tangent to the cylinder of the long axis of the bb. TEM taken on 3\/4\/69 by R. Allen with Philips 300 operating at 60kV. Neg. 39,900X. The raw film was scanned with an Epson Perfection V750 Pro. Standard glutaraldehyde fixation followed by osmium tetroxide, dehydrated in alcohol and embedded in an epoxy resin. Microtome sections prepared at approximately 75nm.\n\nAdditional information available at (http:\/\/www5.pbrc.hawaii.edu\/allen\/)."},"ITEMTYPE":[{"onto_name":"transmission electron microscopy (TEM)","onto_id":"FBbi:00000258"},{"onto_name":"illumination by electrons","onto_id":"FBbi:00000273"}],"CELLULARCOMPONENT":[{"onto_name":"microtubule basal body","onto_id":"GO:0005932"},{"onto_name":"cytoskeleton","onto_id":"GO:0005856"}],"RELATIONTOINTACTCELL":{"onto_name":"microtome-sectioned tissue","onto_id":"FBbi:00000029"},"SOURCEOFCONTRAST":{"onto_name":"stain with broad specificity","onto_id":"FBbi:00000415"},"GROUP_ID":"3476","DATAQUALIFICATION":{"free_text":"RAW;spatialmeasurements;intensitiesquantitation"},"TERMSANDCONDITIONS":{"free_text":"public_domain"},"IMAGINGMODE":[{"onto_name":"detection of electrons","onto_id":"FBbi:00000375"},{"onto_name":"film","onto_id":"FBbi:00000303"}],"DIMENSION":[{"Space":{"Image_size":4840,"Pixel_size":{"unit":"nanometers","value":0.38},"axis":"X"}},{"Space":{"Image_size":6047,"Pixel_size":{"unit":"nanometers","value":0.38},"axis":"Y"}}],"NCBIORGANISMALCLASSIFICATION":{"onto_name":"Nassula","onto_id":"NCBITaxon:502083"},"PREPARATION":[{"onto_name":"glutaraldehyde fixed tissue","onto_id":"FBbi:00000011"},{"onto_name":"osmium tetroxide fixed tissue","onto_id":"FBbi:00000012"},{"onto_name":"tissue in epoxy resin embedment","onto_id":"FBbi:00000018"},{"onto_name":"microtome-sectioned tissue","onto_id":"FBbi:00000029"}],"VISUALIZATIONMETHODS":[{"onto_name":"stain with broad specificity","onto_id":"FBbi:00000415"},{"onto_name":"osmium tetroxide","onto_id":"FBbi:00000571"},{"onto_name":"uranyl salt","onto_id":"FBbi:00000569"},{"onto_name":"lead salt","onto_id":"FBbi:00000570"}],"CELLTYPE":[{"onto_name":"cell by organism","onto_id":"CL:0000004"},{"onto_name":"eukaryotic cell","onto_id":"CL:0000255"},{"free_text":"Eukaryotic Protist"},{"free_text":"Ciliated Protist"}]}},"Citation":{"Title":"Richard Allen (2010) CIL:7663, Nassula, cell by organism, eukaryotic cell, Eukaryotic Protist, Ciliated Protist.
