A young man holds up a poster of women picking cotton, while a young boy and girl next to him are drawing at a table. Over a dozen posters have been hung along the wall at the back, depicting a variety of topics: "Hen pi Si ren bang (Down with the Gang of Four)," "Yi ku si tian (Recalling the bitterness of old China and thinking of the sweetness of the new society)," "Ji hua sheng yu hao (Birth control is good)," etc. A group of villagers stands looking at the posters on display
