R/V Argo (ship) returning from dredging field trip during the Scripps Institution of Oceanography's Swan Song Expedition (1961). Swansong Expedition (1961) explored the North Pacific at the equator and Eastern Tropical Pacific on R/V Argo. The expedition collected large water samples for analysis, studied the Cromwell Current (Pacific Equatorial Undercurrent), and undertook a limited biological program for the Inter-American Tropical Tuna Commission.
