Harmon Craig, his wife Valerie Craig, and Abe Abriam, a senior mechanic at Scripps Institution of Oceanography. Craig won the Balzan Prize and shared his award with SIO/UCSD support staff, including Abriam and three UCSD custodians who took care of Scripps Institution of Oceanography's Ritter Hall and Craig's office/lab: Amie Orr; Gladys Strong; Rudy Chavez. 1999
