Locus 32, Area A, Area Stratum III, WALL

WA (Wall) -- Wall. The north-eastern wall of the gateway complex. -- Wall:- NE GW -- L:5.05, W:1.85, H:3.25, 18 courses. Wall composed of two built faces and haphazard fill of stones and sediment. Faces built of shale of varying sizes, some -- Original stage of utilization of the gate complex, defensive oriented structure, later to serve local small scale copper production activities.

E-inner norrthern tower chambers, W-L15, N-W33, S-gateway entrance.

Locus contemporary: W7, 8, 38, 33, 47, 35, 45, 46

Wall left as exposed, therefore no access to possible sealed finds from within or below.

Area stratum III

Wall partly collapsed in final destruction event of the gate complex. -- roughly cut. Possible solidifying clay matter between the stones. No foundation trench, probable pre-construction excavation and sedimenrt bed laying instead.
