Roger Revelle (1909-1991) shown here at Scripps Institution of Oceanography was a scientist and scholar who was instrumental in the formative years of the Institution and also of UCSD. He was one of the first scientists to study global warming and the movement of Earth's tectonic plates. Circa 1948.
