Saelasi Lounga was at this time a South Sea Evangelical Church (SSEC) Christian living on the coast at Uru Harbour, but he was formerly an important and knowledgeable ancestral priest for the Kwangafi area. He died in the early 1990s.
An ’ai’imae is a story about killings in the past, either told or sung in ancestral chant performances that last many hours.
Guns were introduced to Malaita in the late 19th century, and Malaitans soon had thousands.
Gwee’abe is where Bell was killed and Keesing's shorthand for that event.
’Ausango is a ritual dance performed to ’auilangi panpipes as part of a ritual complex (also called sango) performed around at the opening of newly rebuilt skullhouses. Only ’Ai’eda people still perform it ritually. Various versions were performed, for different reasons, from ’Oloburi all the way throughout northern Malaita.
