- Description

Both of these women were born among the Mbotegate (Lausi) people in the mountainous interior of Malekula. They were enthusiastic about showing off traditional dress for a photo. Both women are seen here holding a bamboo noisemaker used in ritual dances, and wearing necklaces made of seashells collected locally.
