An unidentified man and Arthur Eugene Maxwell (in white shorts), who was under the tutelage of Roger Revelle and was his first graduate student at Scripps Institution of Oceanography. Maxwell helped to record the first successful heat flow measurements through the seafloor during the Capricorn Expedition (1952-53).1953.
